ALAN SCHALLER - Black and White Street Photography
"We are inherently social creatures after all, and the way we are getting lost in the online world and the big city life is hard to miss. My photographs are my interpretation of this disconnection.”
This comprehensive workshop will heighten your understanding of black and white photography, both at the time of capture, and when editing. You will be shown how to coax the maximum tonality from any scene, from portraits with rich tonal depth through to high contrast street scenes. If you have a passion for black and white, in street photography or any genre of photography, this is your chance to learn how to set yours apart.
Alan Schaller is a London based photographer who specializes in black and white photography. His work often incorporates geometry, high contrast, surrealism and shows the realities and diversities of human life, and has found its way to the front covers of magazines, in leading newspapers, used for advertising by luxury brands, and has been exhibited and featured internationally. Brands he has worked with include Philips, Huawei Mobile, Union Coffee, Kew Gardens, Huntsman of Savile Row and London Fashion week. He is a brand ambassador for Leica Cameras.
He co-founded the Street Photography International Collective (SPi). It was set up to promote the best work in the genre, and to give a platform to talented yet unrepresented photographers. Today the SPi Instagram account is the largest dedicated street photography resource in the world with over 440,000 followers and 11 million visits a month.
